Sexual / Racial Harassment Policy
All employees have the right to work in an
environment free from all forms of discrimination, including, but not limited to, sexual
and racial harassment.
There are basically two forms of sexual harassment in
employment, namely harassment linked to promises or threats concerning any aspect of a
person's job, and harassment creating a hostile work environment. A sexually abusive,
hostile environment is every bit as improper and illegal as a racially abusive, hostile
environment.
Our Company feels that sexual and racial harassment is a
form of misconduct which undermines the integrity of the employment relationship. No
employee, either male or female, should be subject to unwelcome sexual advances or conduct
or a sexually hostile work environment. We consider both sexual and racial harassment to
be unacceptable behavior of a most serious nature, which may result in disciplinary
action, up to and including termination.
Should an employee at any time feel he or she is the
victim of illegal discrimination or is the subject of racial or sexual harassment, any
step in the complaint procedure can be disregarded if the affected employee feels that the
person answering for management at that complaint step is guilty of the alleged illegal
discriminatory act or acts. The affected employee may then directly by pass the supervisor
and report the incident directly to the owner or owners. Our policy is to investigate all
forms of harassment reported and consider this to be of a top priority and of a very
serious nature. All sexual or racial harassment should be reported immediately regardless
of whether or not the alleged harassment is by an employee, manager, visitor, vender,
customer or others. Once an employee feels that a reportable offense has occurred, he or
she is encouraged to report that alleged harassment promptly at the earliest moment.
Our employees reporting alleged incidents of harassment
will not suffer any form of reprisal, and retaliatory action taken by an employee accused
of harassment or of any other discriminatory conduct may result in discipline to that
employee up to and including termination.
