Beverage Quality Control Management
To help keep your fountain sales high this year, follow these simple steps to ensure your customers get the quality beverage product they know and expect.

1. Taste Beverages Daily. If your soft drinks don't taste right, check the following items before calling your bottler.

2. Taste Water and Ice. If you notice any off taste in water or ice, contact your bottler for a water analysis. Your bottler can recommend a water treatment system to improve the quality of your water. If you already have a filter system, your filter cartridges may need replacement Contact your bottler for replacement filters.

3. Check Beverage Temperature Daily. After serving at least 3 drinks (during non-peak period), Use your thermometer to be sure beverage temperature (without ice) is 40* or less. Warmer drinks will foam and may taste flat. If drink temperature is above 40*F, tap down ice in cold plate bin and fill bin. Be sure to tap down ice 2-3 time a day and always keep ice bin full for best cooling.

4. Check CO2, Gas Regulators Daily. Your dispenser needs C02 gas to operate. Check the C02 regulators every day to be sure all are set at the proper setting.

5. Check Syrup-to-Water n Ratio Weekly. To get the perfect tasting drink, you must have 5 parts of water mixed with 1 part of syrup (5:1 ratio). Check once per week after you have served at least three drinks. Adjust only as required.

6. Rotate Syrup. Always use the oldest syrup first. When syrup is fresh, the beverage tastes the best. All syrup should be used within 60 days past the date of production. All containers are coded with the production date (i.e. Jan 01, 2000 or 1-1-00). Always store syrup above 40*F and below 90*F - (70* for best taste).

7. Check Ice Levels in Cups. Too much ice dilutes soft drink flavor. Too little ice will let the beverage get warm too quickly and go flat. Always use 1/3 cup of ice for best drink taste.

8. Keep Equipment Clean. Wipe down all dispenser surfaces daily. Remove and clean dispensing nozzles daily. Flush hot water down dispenser drain. Clean ice bin thoroughly each week. Use warm soapy water for all cleaning. Never use bleach.
